It was the month of March if i remember properly i got d info from a particular website about Him coming to Bangalore. At that very line my heart skipped a beat! I was over moon to see my idol, my star, the GOD of MUSIC - A R RAHMAN :):):)
Without wasting a moment i called up my brother to arrange a ticket for me somehow for the concert scheduled on May 29,2011. He said he'l get me one. I was just waiting for it like a hungry piggy :D The newspapers started advertisin about it almost after 3weeks! But then i got a bad news that i'l have exam on the day after concert..But i din care much as it was jus lab exam. :P I was just hoping i'l get a ticket. But then unfortunately my bro cudn arrange for a ticket :( i was jus broodin on dat day...dat ARR has cum to d town...so close yet i'm soooooo far :( Then came that phonecall which i'd rank as 1 of the most imp n best calls eva :) It was deepak, my PU friend who asked me if i wanted 1 tkt...I felt lyk i got water to drink after centuries of thirst :) I quickly grabbed the opportunity :) Said yes I'l come :)
I just read for my lab exam how much ever i could till evening with only ARR in my Brain :D When i was al ready to leave my place at 4...my bro asked me to drop him to his fren's place...i cudn tel no..I'd to be der in Palace grounds asap..I dropped him to his fren's place pretty far off from...so far that i din know the way back :D Deep sumwher in Rajarajeshwarinagar i rode my vehi amidst the heavy traffic lyk neva b4 n reached near lalbagh west gate wher i was supposed to meet Dpk in jus 20min !!!! Finally we set off to Palace grounds...I jus wanted to zoom past and reach der jus to c him in person :):) It took almost half an hour to get into palace grounds jus 500 meters from its entrance :O D road was choked wid vehicles to brim! Al of em jus crazy abo ARR lyk me :)

It was the 1st tym i saw Bangalore palace...jus ran der and tuk a pic and jus ran towards the mainstage like wild dogs! We jus enterd it thru the shortest queue in...i jus ran in wid ful excitement b4 i was stopped by sum security guards. One of them was like, "ಏನಪ್ಪಾ ಅಷ್ಟೊಂದು ಆತ್ರ ನ? ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಟಿಕೆಟ್ ತೋರಿಸಿ ಹೋಗು ಬರಿ ನಿಂತ್ಕೊಂಡು ನೋಡೋದೇ ಆಲ್ವಾ? :P:P" (Why so hurry bloke? show us ur tkt and go...anyway you jus stand n watch :P) i was like you people don understand it..chuck and i collected d 3D glasses and ran in finally witnessin d magnanimous and magnificient stage b4 me :)
Well, this was supposed to be the first Indian concert to have live 3D rendering. We were pretty far from d main stage coz mine was Rs.500 ticket..we'd Rs.1000, 2000, 5000 and 10000 ticket stands in front of us...and in total a whopping 40000 people who were just there to spend a beautiful melodious rahmaniac journey :) It was around half an hour by the tym de aal set up d 3D screens and got it working telecastin the happenings on d stage as if it were happening next to us :):) SUch was the quality offered by the Organisers..Hats off to them..:):)
Finally the show started off with the usual traditional lamp-lighting ceremony followed by initial welcoming speeches by the organisers and the Host. The stage went blank and dark for a while and the air started to dance around us when d music began wid the most famous 'BOMBAY THEME'...D crowd cheered 'A R RAHMAN' amongst the thunderous applause and hearty welsome to d Maestro and in no tym he was there standing b4 us on the stage :):):) It was treat to my senses. I felt sopme sort of accomplishment seeing the short, talented yet extremely simple and down-to-earth guy:)
In no time He staretd wid TERE BINA song from Guru :) I couldn't believe I was hearing Rahman sir LIVE...and wid dos 3D glasses on...d experience was elevated to altogether a new level :):) The subsequent masterpieces that followed this included MAUSAM ESCAPE, YEH JO DES HAI TERA (SWADES), JAANE TU (Male - Title Track), GENDAPHOOL(DELHI 6), HOSANNA (Vijay Prakash - VINNAITHANDI VARUVAAYA), RANG DE BASANTI(Title track), TANHA TANHA, YAI RE (RANGEELA), MASAKALI (DELHI 6) in the order they were performed :)
The next song was 1 of my personal favourites..LUKA CHUPPI (RDB). This had an excellent setting. First of all the stage looked worth a million wid maze like structure on d floor and roof...and widin each maze on the floor there were artists playing various instruments. An the light and sound settings was of International standards! And this very song just stole my heart from its very rendering. We had Lata Mangeshkar crooning the female part through a pre recorded video on the screen and ARR joinin her song live on d stage :):) It was lyk she was calling her son from a long distance ie thru screen and he being a son is far away from her on the stage aping the actual meaning of the song! It surely did touch everyone's heart there in the Concert :)
MANMOHINI, TU MUSKURA (YUVVRAAJ), KHUDA HAFIZ (YUVA), MEHERBAN (ADA), REHNA TU (DELHI 6), JAAGE HE, HOW MANY STARS?, ISHQ BINA (TAAL), PETTARAP(KADHALAN), CHIKKU BUKKU(GENTLEMAN), JAI HO!(SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE), DIL SE (Title Track), CHANGING SEASONS, GURUS OF PEACE, ARZIYAN (DELHI 6), KHWAJA (JODHA AKBAR), DREAMS OF FIRE(SLUMDOG), KAHIN TO (JAANE TU), HUMMA (BOMBAY), THOK DI KILLI(RAAVAN), ROBO DA, IRUMBILE (ENTHIRAN) were the other hit numbers performed leaving the crowd wanting for more. The performances by Remo, Suresh Peters, Sivamani, Vijay Prakash was extraordinary as usual :):)
The rock version of Pettarap and Chikku bukku was an absolute treat to the Rock lovers. It was an electrying performance by Remo Fernandes. The sufi songs of the Arziyan and Khwaja jus brought in peace, purity, melody and devotion in the atmosphere. Absolute Bliss :) Coincidentally the snacks were provided by some caterers by name A.R.Caterers :D I hardly saw people around me...I was lost in the music :)
The night ended with a message giving note 'Fight Against Corruption' suppported by ARR, Remo and others and dedicated ROOBAROO (RDB) song in support of it. And the very famous and easily one of the most patriotic songs of all times...VANDE MATARAM :):):):):):) The whole stage was draped in Tricolour by then and the sky adorned wid colourful Fireworks which ended the concert on a high note bt left the audience wanting for more. That day easily goes into best days of my life. Leaving me in trance for the rest of the week. I dunno how i did my lab exam the next day but it was only ARR in my mind aaal the while. The Musical genius once again stole my heart. HAIL THE GOD OF MUSIC...!! N truly He is not jus Mozart of Madras...Hez RAHMAN OF INDIA :):):):):):)
